A Girl who likes Eroge

 A Girl Who Likes Eroge

NakigeGirl

I started playing visual novels when I first read Planetarian on my phone. Then I became interested in Nekopara as it looked cute. When I was 17 and given my portion of stimulus money, I bought Nekopara. I thought the game was very cute. It was the switch version so there was no ero-scenes and I was fine with that. It was the way I had access. So, I was happy. But about a year and a half later in 2022, a game with cute art caught my eye on the eshop.

This game was Yuzusoft's Senren Banka. Yes. The one that's gonna get an anime next year. I'm cautiously optimistic about it. What drew me to that game was the fact that I saw cleavage front out and center on the eshop. So I thought to myself, 'Why not take a look on vndb for this?' and I did. I found the steam release by Nekonyan and patiently waited for a sale. The sale occurred and I bought the game. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.

In 2024,  I had a mental breakdown. After coming home from the mental hospital, I wanted to play something bleak and chose something already in my library. That game was Subahibi. I expected something bleak but it became one of the most hopeful things I played. It was the first VN I live played on my account. Originally, the NakigeGirl twitter account was made to post fan art I wasn't comfy with on main. I am forever grateful for the days I spent playing those games. After I finished Subahibi and Tsui no Sora 2020, I moved onto another company. A company that holds a key in my heart.

Key. They were the first people I bought a visual novel from. In 2024, Kanon got an official English release and I played it and fell in love. I played Air next and loved that too. I watched the adaptations with a discord server with all I've met in the Key community. Especially in the Keyverse discord server. I've met great people and those I hope to consider friends one day. I am grateful to you all. Now, what am I doing now?

I returned to in person university and I am set to graduate next year in May with a Bachelors in History. I want to add a minor but I have to get some courage and talk to Sensei about it. But for now, I want to keep playing with you all. I want to laugh, cry, be angry with you all. In a community I once thought girls weren't welcome in, I'm glad I was wrong. So wrong. I'm so glad. Once again, thank you for everything! Thank you all for saving me!

A Foray into British Television

A Foray into British Television

    NakigeGirl

During 2024, I was having quite a rough year for myself. I met a lot of you after I started playing SubaHibi as a method of finding hope or feeling hopeless. Whichever came first really. Anyway, during that year, my sister told me to watch a show during my time while having a break from university. This show was The Great British Bake Off. I saw the 2024 season. I loved everything to pieces. I thoroughly thank my sister for her recommendation. It helped calm me down a lot. I had watched Drag Race UK as well but I'm not good at keeping up with that one.

This year, I was recommended another show by her after browsing Peacock. The Traitors. The Traitors UK to be specific. She had recommended the celebrity edition with main stars, Alan Carr, Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, and more. Now I will be getting into some spoilers for the season because I have a lot on my mind. Spoilers ahead!

This was an amazing season for The Traitors. The traitors were Cat Burns, Johnathan Ross, and Alan Carr. There was a theory that Joe Marler was on that I would like to address. That was the "Big Dog" theory. As there was both a "Big Dog" for the Traitors and the faithful however, I think what Joe Marler failed to realize is that he had one "Big Dog" right. Only one. The "Big Dog" of the faithfuls was him. He was a powerful presence into the finale and betrayed Cat. However, the other finalists voted to banish Joe as neither of the two faithfuls left thought that the last traitor was Alan.

No one had suspected him at all. He didn't even do much to cast suspicions on him unless if it was from Joe M but he was banished at the final. He killed two close friends in plain sight, Celia and Paloma. Both of the incidents didn't seem out of character for Alan Carr. Repeating a Shakespeare quote allegedly said to Alan by Stephan or brushing something out of Paloma's face. Only things Alan could pull off. Cat isn't an actress and Johnathan was not close with Paloma.

There's another point I want to make about Johnathan. Early on, he caught wind that Ruth was after him so he had decided to murder her in a double bluff. Which worked for over half the season, however he ended up with too much heat on him and left with a great exit. Trying to convince the faithfuls that they had gotten another faithful but in reality, he had and always had been "faithful to the traitors!" In one of the most brilliant things I had seen on television.

However, at the point they caught Johnathan, it was too late. Cat and Alan flew so under the radar that even if that in the finale, Cat was caught, the traitors knew that Alan would never be suspected and that's what had won him 87,500 pound sterling for his charity, Neuroblastoma UK. Now when Alan won, he had revealed that being a Traitor had been eating away at him the entire time. To the point to where he thought he was the most hated man in Britain. But from what I saw, it was quite the opposite. He is loved. I loved him on the show. He played a brilliant game and one of the best games I've seen on television. No other game show could compare.

About the NakigeGirl blog

 About NakigeGirl

Hello there, my name is Maple and I am the host of this blog. NakigeGirl. The reason I'm called NakigeGirl is because I love it when a game can make me cry. This blog is primarily about visual novels of all sorts, Eroge, Otome, BL, GL, All-Ages works etc., basically, if it looks interesting, I'll play it. I can also talk about the manga I read here as well. I mostly read joseimuke manga, but I will often read seinen or shonen if it's interesting enough.

I'm also currently studying Japanese, 今は僕は日本語を勉強しています。I've been studying Japanese since I have entered university and I am set to graduate at spring of 2027. Where I go to university is none of anyone's business so that information will be kept private. I do have certain medical conditions that I will only reveal when it comes up in a game I play, or if it ever does. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my blog.
